Rise Up And Build!
Rise Up And Build!
In the auditorium class we've recently discussed Nehemiah and his return to Jerusalem to rebuild the walls of the city (and the hearts of the people). Today, the church has an even more noble task... To build up God's eternal Kingdom and bring glory unto Him. I urge all of us to keep in mind that the church at Godley has a plan to build. Everything we do is a laying one stone upon another. Sunday we lay an important stone as we more fully devote our attention, our money, and our hearts to the mission of God. April 12-15 is our lectureship that has been prayed about, planned for and worked on for many several months. It will provide us with a great opportunity to learn and be encouraged through God's Word (and the fellowship of sister congregations), as well as reach out in our community. The Lads to Leaders program is an ongoing effort to develop our young people to be life-long faithful servants of Christ and the next generation of leaders for God's people (preachers, elders, missionaries, Bible School teachers, dedicated Christian mothers and fathers, etc.). Less than two weeks ago a website was established that assists us in communication, provides opportunities for edification, and reaches into the community and world.
All of these things, and many others, are stones planned for this year to help raise us and the church to greater heights. (For next year we will reevaluate our plan and make adjustments to what we do, but let's work! God can bless our feeble efforts!) Just as in Nehemiah's day, the more we have on board, the more successful we are going to be. Please prayerfully consider how you are supporting, encouraging, and working for the Lord's cause. Let's not leave stones lying on the ground... Lets us rise up and build! (Nehemiah 2:18).
